Question: What is the junior golf program?

Answer: It is a series of golf activities including instruction, playdays and tournaments for boys and girls who have completed third grade.

Q: How much does the program cost?

A: There is a $30 charge to enroll in the summer program which lasts from the first of June until early August.

Q: When is the instruction period conducted by the professionals?

A: Instruction days are Monday through Thursday at your home course – Lincoln , Trosper, Earlywine and Hefner on June 8-11. Each junior is assigned an hour-long period (same time each day) when the junior enrolls on Sunday, May 31 or June 7.

Q: What tournaments will I be able to play in?

A: There is the Junior Invitational (July 7-8) and the Club Championships (July 23-24). The Wally Wallis Pro-Junior at Hefner on August 5 is by invitation only. If you haven't been invited, ask one of your supervisors about entering.

Q: What are supervised playdays?

A: Junior members are divided into three age groups. Each group is supervised while on the golf course by Golf, Inc. staffers (mostly college students). They see that the Juniors tee off on time and keep moving. The three age divisions are:

Group A – All participants have completed grades 3-5.

Group B – All who have completed grades 6-8.

Group C – All who completed grades 9-11.

Q: What about C members?

A: Unsupervised playdays are no longer a part of the Golf, Inc. program for C players. However, Golf, Inc. will continue to offer its traditional tournaments such as the Junior Invitational and the Club Championships for Group C members. The only requirements that must be met are:

(1) Juniors playing in the 14-15 age group must not have reached their 16 th birthday prior to the tournament event.

(2) Juniors playing in the 16-17 age group must not have reached their 18 th birthday prior to the tournament event.

(3) Juniors must enroll in the summer program. $30 memberships will be available prior to the tournament event.
